Module I – How Legal Projects Work?
First module of the course analyses key defining features of legal projects and their influence on project success. It also introduces key LPM frameworks and project phases, matching them with common legal projects. You will learn how to assess your projects, define their characteristics and choose the right framework for their management.
You will also discover how the most effective project methodologies – waterfall, agile and hybrid – can be transformed and adjusted to fit the needs of legal practitioners and legal projects.
Module II – Definition and Planning
Second module guides you through the initial phases of legal projects. You will learn how to define scope, duration, cost and quality of a project, how to form a project team and initiate the project. You will also discover best planning practices to effectively capture tasks, decisions, delays, risks and much much more.
These initial phases of the project lifecycle are often overlooked and neglected which in turn often leads to unforeseen delays, scope changes and rising tensions. When done right, defining and planning even the simplest projects will bring you increased efficiency, better control over the project and higher client satisfaction.
Model III – Execution
Third module of the course covers project execution across main LPM methodologies. In this part you will learn how to track and measure project’s progress, manage changes and risks, maintain quality, communicate effectively and collaborate with the client.
We will concentrate on quality management and effective communication with the client throughout the project, as those two factors tend to determine project success and client satisfaction, regardless of project outcome.
Module IV – Project Closure
Last module focuses on closing legal projects. Often neglected, this phase holds tremendous value to the project and project team. It covers final quality control, delivery of project outcomes, project analysis, document production, knowledge management and satisfaction assessment. Proper closure of a legal project is one of the keys to receive next ones from the client.
You will learn how these final project stages may increase its value for your client, project team and your organisation.
